Catherine Zeta-Jones Stuns On The Red Carpet In China In First Public Appearance Since Separation

Catherine Zeta-Jones turned heads on Sunday night in her first public appearance since news broke of her separation from husband Michael Douglas at the end of August.

The 43-year-old actress was in China's Shandong province to announce the launch of a brand-new $5 billion film studio, as well as plans for a Chinese film festival hosted by AMC Entertainment, reports People.

While Zeta-Jones made her first red-carpet appearance since the separation, Douglas was halfway around the world accepting his Emmy award for his role as Liberace in HBO's "Behind the Candelabra." During his acceptance speech, Douglas surprised many when he included Zeta-Jones in his speech:

"I want to thank my wife Catherine for her support, my kids Dylan and Carys, and a shout-out for my oldest son Cameron and hoping that I'll be able and they'll allow me to see him soon," he said.

The separation may not mean the end of the marriage, as many had feared, as last week Douglas told ET Online, "Everybody is fine. Nothing really more to say. We were just taking a little break. We’re talking. I think everything will be fine and I’m very hopeful.”

These Are The Dresses The Stars Should Have Worn To The Emmys (PHOTOS)

It's pretty obvious that we were underwhelmed by the fashion we saw at the 2013 Emmy Awards. A very select group of stars managed to shine, but most of them just flopped.

Since so many gorgeous dresses came down the runway during Fashion Week, we expected our favorite A-listers to do much better. To help them out (and hopefully give them inspiration for next season), we've picked out the gowns from various spring 2014 collections that we wish they had worn. Next year, these celebs should consult us first, clearly.

Lena Dunham --> Temperley London

lena

The main issue with Dunham's dress is the excessive material. The skirt is too full and too long, and the bodice is not tight enough, making her look bigger than she is. This Temperley London dress is not only proportionally better, but the purple hues would have complimented her brown hair and fair skin.

Kerry Washington --> Monique Lhuillier

kerry

Washington looks amazing in bright colors and this red and pink Monique Lhuillier top and skirt combo would have made her stand out on the red carpet. And we know she has the body to rock a crop top.

Allison Willams --> Jason Wu

alison

Williams' dress is boring us to tears. Nothing about it is memorable, and while we don't hate it, we think this Jason Wu dress could have easily made her the best-dressed star of the night.

Alyson Hannigan --> Delpozo

hannigan

If she's not in a wedding party, this dress has got to go. Imagine Hannigan's red hair against this billowy Delpozo top. And that slim skirt would make her legs look miles long. (Our only suggestion would be to skip the blue eyeshadow when copying this look.)

January Jones --> Cushnie et Ochs

jan jones

This color is washing the "Mad Men" star out, and the dress has little shape. Had she worn this Cushnie et Ochs dress, she could have flaunted that amazing figure of hers.

Jessica Paré --> Tadashi Shoji

jessica pare

This dress was the wrong color and the wrong shape. However, this little black Tadashi Shoji dress has the perfect amount of sex appeal and bling to set Paré apart from the crowd.

Kate Mara --> Naeem Khan

kate mara

Mara got the color right at the Emmys, but her look needs slight refining. This Naeem Khan dress is so simple, yet so delicate and striking. Which is perfect for Mara, who always likes to make a statement.

Julie Bowen --> Ralph Lauren

ralph lauren

The dress Bowen wore to the Emmys was overly sweet and ruffly. We would have much rather saw her take a chance in this sexy red Ralph Lauren number. The color would have been perfection against her porcelain complexion.

Carrie Underwood --> J. Mendel

carrie

Another bad bridesmaid dress. Instead of showing up to the Emmys looking like a cake topper, the country singer should have sported this slinky red J. Mendel number. It would have shown off her best assets.

Kanye West's Zane Lowe Interview Can Only Be Described As Amazing

"Product guy" Kanye West sat down with Zane Lowe of BBC Radio 1 for an intense discussion on all things "Yeezus," fashion and family. The first portion is available in video form below, but the full session just aired on Radio 1. Here are a few tidbits:

On why he's focusing on fashion more than clothing now: "It's not illegal to not listen to music. It's illegal to walk around naked."

On providing inspiration: "If you're a Kanye fan, you're not a fan of me, you're a fan of yourself. I'm just the espresso. I'm just the shot in the morning."

On his "rants": "They classify my motivational speeches as rants… I have reached the point where my 'Truman Show' boat has crashed into the painting."

On "Yeezus": "This is what frustration f--king sounds like."

On being in a peerless place: "I look around and I say, 'Wait a second, there's no one around me in this space that looks like me. And if they are, they're quiet as f--k. So that means, wait a second -- we are seriously in a civil rights movement."

On rap going mainstream: "Where is the culture at?"

And, perhaps most impressive, on fashion and Hedi Slimane (currently of Saint Laurent): "Whether I'm at a dinner with Anna Wintour, or a listening party with Pusha-T or in Rome with Virgil [Abloh, West's creative director], giving Fendi our designs and getting them knocked down… [We] brought the leather jogging pants six years ago to Fendi, and they said no. How many motherf—kers you done seen with a leather jogging pant? So when I see Hedi Slimane, and it's like, 'OK, this is my take on the world,' yeah, he's got some nice $5,000 jeans in there, it's some nice ones here and there, some good sh-t here and there, but we are culture. Rap is the new rock and roll. We are culture. Rap is the new rock and roll. We are the rockstars. It's been like that for a minute, Hedi Slimane. It's been like that for a minute. We the biggest rockstars, and I'm the biggest of all of them."

Ian Somerhalder Is Not Angry He Wasn't Cast In 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' (VIDEO)

Fans of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" series may be sad that Ian Somerhalder wasn't cast as Christian Grey for the big-screen adaptation, but the actor himself is not sweating the decision.

During a conversation about his partnership with breaking news site RYOT, the "Vampire Diaries" actor told HuffPost Live's Marc Lamont Hill that while he is "unbelievably grateful for all the support and all the cheering and the love" from fans who wanted him to star in "Fifty Shades," he's plenty occupied without the role.

"I'm on a TV show that shoots 10 months a year," he said.

Somerhalder added that he was not upset when it was announced that Charlie Hunnam will play Grey.

"It's so funny, you read these blogs: 'Ian Somerhalder angry, livid he's not Christian Grey' -- I mean, no, no, no, there's none of that," he said.

It was long rumored that Somerhalder was a frontrunner for the part. In March, Andy Cohen asked him about the rumors on "Watch What Happens Live," and at the time Somerhalder gave a vague answer that seemed to hint he was in fact in the running for the part.

"I think they have a very big job ahead of them, casting this role," Somerhalder told Cohen. "So, I can’t say anything other than, it’s a very interesting story and whoever plays that role is going to have a lot of fun rehearsal time."

Jon Hamm To Undergo Throat Surgery To Remove Polyp

His performance as the perpetually smoking Don Draper brought him an Emmy nod, but it looks like the rasp in Jon Hamm's voice isn't just due to method acting. The 42-year-old actor is set to undergo throat surgery next week after allegedly coughing up blood recently, according to multiple reports.

A rep for the actor confirmed to The Huffington Post that Hamm would be having surgery, calling it a "routine outpatient procedure to remove a single polyp from his throat." Previous reports suggested that Hamm was to remove two, not one, polyps (abnormal tissue) from the region.

Meanwhile, a report in Life & Style magazine claims the surgery news is not new for Hamm's "Mad Men" cast mates. "January Jones was talking about [Hamm's throat surgery] at the Governors Ball after party last night," a source for the publication said.

Throat Polyp: Why Jon Hamm Is Undergoing Surgery

"Mad Men" actor Jon Hamm will undergo throat surgery, a representative for the actor confirmed to the Huffington Post on Monday.

He will undergo a "routine outpatient procedure to removes [sic] single polyp from his throat," Hamm's rep told HuffPost Celebrity.

While the representative did not specify the exact location on the throat of Hamm's polyp, vocal cord polyps are known to be a common condition among people who often use their voices -- such as actors.

Vocal cord polyps can best be thought of as "blisters" on the vocal cords -- they are part of a group of noncancerous lesions, known as vocal cord lesions. Other vocal cord lesions include vocal cord nodules (which are calluses of the vocal cord) and vocal cysts (which is when scarring occurs over a duct, and then that duct becomes filled with mucus), according to Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Symptoms of vocal cord polyps include neck pain, having a "rough" or "scratchy" voice, fatigue, and changes in pitch range, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association reported. Polyps are often caused by long-term vocal abuse, though they can also be caused by a single incident of severe vocal abuse.

Therapy and surgery are the most common treatments for vocal cord lesions, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine.

If there's one thing we know about Drake, it's that the 26-year-old rapper is not afraid of showing his emotions -- just look at all the emo Instagram photos he posts!

Maybe that's why we can't stop laughing at the the Drake-centric meme below, which shows the Grammy-award winning rapper obsessing over his ex in a way we all can relate to -- he's reminded of her everywhere he turns:

Poor guy. First the "Drake is the type of guy to" jokes blow up on Twitter and now this. Good thing he recently told fans that he knows all about the memes but doesn't care that they keep cropping up.

MIA Releases Video On NFL Suit, Says Young Cheerleaders More Offensive Than Her Middle Finger

News broke last week that the NFL had been quietly waging a serious legal war against MIA, the singer who flipped off the camera during Madonna's Super Bowl performance during the 2012 halftime show. Since then, MIA has asked fans to submit evidence of NFL wrongdoing (including, but not limited to, bounties on hits, athlete injuries and post-career health issues). On Monday, the singer took things a step further by releasing a video of herself comparing what she deems the "sexual exploitation" of Madonna's backup dancers, who she says were young girls under the age of 16 and performed suggestive dances at the same moment she flipped her finger. The league wants $1.5 million from MIA.

"They're basically [saying] it's OK for me to promote being sexually exploited as a female, than to display female empowerment through being punk rock," the singer said. "That's what it boils down to, and I'm being sued for it."

Seriously, Emmys, Where Were the Sartorial Shenanigans?

While Fashion Week finishes up in Milan, the real action took place last night in Los Angeles at the Emmy Awards. As retailers follow the shows and hope for hits that translate to sales, most normal people have no idea, nor do they care, about what's going on right now in Europe on the runways. And anyway, it's far more fun to see what Tina Fey or Julia Louise-Dreyfus is wearing -- and for most of us, how well they are aging -- than what some anonymous androgynous model sports in a country, at an age, and at a price that is far, far away.

I've loved watching award shows as long as I can remember. My mom was always a huge fan, and when she passed away years ago, we found boxes of VHS tapes from pretty much every Oscar that happened during this old-school recording period. She loved television and although didn't see too many movies at the theater, loved them on TV and all of the glamour they represented. For someone who lived in Levi's, Birkenstocks and clay-covered sweatshirts (she did Ceramics), I suppose they provided a glimpse into another world, which really is the allure for all of us.

So I flipped on E! to watch Giuliana and Ross and Kelly breathlessly gush about everyone and every gown before turning to CBS for the real show. This being, to me and many, the new "golden age of TV" in quality and creativity, the surplus of serious actors means less sartorial shenanigans.

Which sucks! At least when you want to be entertained by errant outfits. I was bored stiff.

Yes, the "older" ladies -- over 40, which pretty much represented almost every woman who presented or won, all looked fantastic. Hair, skin, figures -- all shiny and tight. I'm particular taken by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who to me get's better with age. She's fifty-fucking-two and just, well, wow. Stay tuned here for more on her later this week.

In the meantime, here is a gallery of my quick live sketches. Like the gowns, some are better than others. Who did you like? What were your favorites? Did you like the show?

Joel McHale, Alfonso Ribeiro, Roddy Piper And Tiffany Get Nostalgic For Klondike (VIDEO)

On a sweltering day in early September, a very unusual awards ceremony was taking place in an abandoned cluster of stores behind the three dollar movie theater in North Hollywood.

Outside, the air was sticky and still, but inside the nondescript buildings, "Community" star Joel McHale was dodging chairs hurled by wrestling Hall of Famer "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, while singer Tiffany and "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" alum Alfonso Ribeiro looked on.

What brought this unlikely assortment of celebrities together? The First Annual Klondy Awards, of course. All summer, Klondike and McHale have been asking fans to submit dares for the three celebrities, to see what they would be prepared to do for a Klondike bar. The results have been fairly hilarious, with Ribeiro dusting off his infamous "Carlton Dance," Piper laying the smackdown on an overconfident fan, and Tiffany returning to the mall to belt out the song that made her famous, "I Think We're Alone Now."

For Piper, what attracted him to the project was the chance for the father of four to connect with a whole new generation of kids, as well as existing fans -- one of whom got the chance to participate in the wrestling legend's challenge video. "The fan who came up with the idea had to be in it too -- he's a great guy, but you know when you watch something your whole life and go 'I can do that'? By the time the end of the day came, he was a little sore, but he was really up-spirit about it," Piper laughed. "It's kind of cool because they never get a chance, nor I, to actually interact, let alone actually be in something like this with 'em, so it's a great opportunity."

Tiffany, best known for her 1987 cover of "I Think We're Alone Now" -- which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 -- relished the opportunity to return to the mall to relive her touring days. "It's been such a great laugh, it's been so fun to have the fans involved," she enthused. "My challenge was singing at the mall and it's been a while since I've done that, so it was really tapping back into that. I knew that was my challenge, but it's one thing to say it and another to turn around and start doing it. I had a blast with it … When I was younger, I was 14 doing the mall tour so I just wanted to sing, and people would yell or scream 'you're too loud' and I would [pause] and then get back up there. I'm a big ham and very resilient and I really embrace things that I get involved with, but I have to say, when I started busting out 'I Think We're Alone Now' and people were looking at me, at first I was like 'yeeeeeah, it's gonna be like this' but there's something about that song that people really like and I just had a fun time with it."

Ribeiro, who recently hosted ABC Family's competition game "Spell-Mageddon," proved that he still has some of the moves that made him famous, although he wisely kept most of them reined in during his challenge video. "It's been fun, it's been awesome -- shooting our initial video, was like [a] blast from the past," he admitted. "But shooting that and dancing and realizing that I'm clearly older and can't do it like I used to is fun. It's one of those things where it's harder to do -- I can still do it, but I just have to work a little harder to make it happen. [But] I still got some sweet moves."

Somehow, McHale managed to escape the contest without having to do a single challenge. "I did one challenge, but it turns out it was completely illegal: I taxidermied a bear," McHale deadpanned. "And I thought it would be hilarious, but it wasn't. Very messy and smelly. No, somehow I've avoided it ... and it's great that the celebrities are game. And of course, the challengers who got their [dares picked] … there's only two of them, one other guy was like 'Oh s---, I didn't realize you were serious; no way am I gonna be on camera!" I just love how we scared a guy … you get a lifetime supply of Klondike bars, [but he was like] 'no way, don't wanna be on camera, I'm scared!' So he missed out. That means the other two guys will split a half a lifetime supply of bars, so they get a lifetime and a half of Klondike bars each."

Naturally, the participating stars had a few ideas for what they'd challenge McHale to do for a Klondike bar, just to even the score. "Joel's got that show 'The Soup' -- I'd say you have me on 'The Soup' and see if you can go one-on-one with me," Piper suggested with a chuckle.

Ribeiro mused, "I would try to come up with something that would clearly go against what he does on his show -- make him be the butt of jokes, not the one who's telling jokes about what other people did. Making him do really silly, funny stuff that he would not be comfortable with."

Tiffany agreed, "He's such a funny guy, I would probably make him do something in that vein -- tell jokes or be someplace really awkward for him to be on and be that funny guy, maybe like high school where everyone's like, 'who is this guy?!' I think he'd have a blast and he'd survive quite well. He's one to take digs and I think [kids] would probably love that."

Check out the video for The Klondy Awards below:

Here's what else we learned on set with McHale, Ribeiro, Piper and Tiffany:

"Community" is back and better than ever:
McHale was two weeks into filming Season 5 of the NBC comedy when we spoke, and with creator Dan Harmon back in the saddle, the actor was feeling confident about the new year: "Dan is back and his scripts are just grand slams, if I do say so for him. They are terrific, and I can't wait 'til everyone is able to see it, because what he's doing with it is just sublime. I'm so happy," he enthused. "And we've got Walton Goggins coming on as a guest star, and Jonathan Banks is here for 11 episodes and he's amazing, and John Oliver is back for a number of episodes. He went and said 'I'm gonna go and have a really successful career.' So I don't know what sort of photographs we have of him, but I'm very happy he agreed to come back."

Ribeiro still doesn't think a "Fresh Prince" reunion will ever happen, but he has a good reason ...
"I think that the reality of it is, 'why did we stop in the first place?' We were never cancelled, we weren't on a show where the networks were like 'we're done, we don't want you anymore,' we stopped. And the reason we stopped was because we felt like there were no more new stories. We were doing story lines over and over again. And that's pretty much what happens on most shows, 'we're gonna tell this story through this character's eyes' so there's only so many stories that you can tell. And I think with 'Fresh Prince' we reached a point where we felt like we were no longer making better shows, we were starting to decline," Ribeiro reasoned.

"And why stop after people are telling you 'thank you very much, you guys have to go over here, bye bye, we'll never see you again,' versus when you're riding high? It obviously worked out well for Will, it didn't work out for every character, but I understood when Will made that decision, him and his people, that it made sense to decide to move in that direction. For me, I doubt it ever happening mainly for that reason. I think the only way something like that would ever happen is if there was a storyline that was so amazing that it was like 'we gotta make this thing'. And then with everybody being older ... James Avery is much older now, we're older, we're all moved on in our lives and careers, and it's wonderful to see how much people love the show and still love it and still watch it, but I just never see it fully happening. I wouldn't say it's an impossibility, but I don't see it ever happening."

McHale's latest movie role is like nothing he's done before:
There's nothing funny about "Beware The Night," a horror thriller that McHale recently finished shooting. "In my mind I was always playing a cop who was too quick to violence and knives, but in this movie, I'm [actually] playing a cop that's way into knives and violence, an ex-army ranger," McHale said wryly. "Mr. Eric Bana is the star of the movie. He is not very good at acting at all, never proven himself … no, he's amazing and a very good guy -- huge, jacked ... the man has enormous arms. It's directed by Scott Derrickson who did 'Sinister' and 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose' and he knows how to scare the hell out of people. It was really fun to make with him."

"Community" returns midseason on NBC.

Kris Humphries Pokes Fun At Kardashians, Helps Danny Heal On 'The Mindy Project' (VIDEO)

Danny was playing pick-up basketball with a group of recently single men on "The Mindy Project." While they may not have been the best support, one of them caught Mindy's attention when she dropped in to try and convince Danny he didn't belong there. As an avid follower of pop culture, she recognized Kris Humphries right away.

Danny had gone so far as to quit the practice after finding out that his ex had slept with the new Dr. L (James Franco). Humphries proved instrumental in convincing Danny to go back to work, while at the same time getting in a quick dig about his former wife, Kim Kardashian, and her family.

“You don’t want to be like me, sitting at home, alone, Saturday nights, watching trashy reality TV shows," he said. "I’m not going to name which ones, trust me. You’re better off over there.”

Zap2It's Billy Niles thought the joke could have been better ... or at least delivered better. He thought Humphries was pretty stiff on camera.

Humprhries was fully aware of of his limited acting skills. Us Weekly quoted him saying, "You're always nervous where people are really talented and you don't do this really, but as time went on, just being out there and messing around with the guys…I loosened up a little bit and ended up having a good time.”

Just as Humphries helped Danny heal, maybe this cameo helped Humphries to move on as well, or at least have a little fun with the messy situation he managed to get himself out of.

James Franco's Dr. L felt so bad about betraying Danny that he quickly left the practice, taking away a lot of potential in an ongoing feud between him and Mindy. But "The Mindy Project" must go on, Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET on Fox.

'The Goldbergs' Premiere: Were The '80s Really This Loud? (VIDEO)

$
0

It's the '80s all over again with the ABC premiere of "The Goldbergs." With a heavy nod to "The Wonder Years," this new sitcom takes a fond look back at the decade of excess and big hair. At the center of the action is the youngest sibling, Adam. With his trusty camcorder, he's chronicling the exploits of his family -- don't worry, it's not a found-footage project -- and those exploits prove to involve a lot of yelling.

Jeff Garlin plays the father, Murray, who's constantly in his underwear and only seems to communicate at the top of his lungs. His wife Beverly, played by Wendi McLendon-Covey isn't much quieter as an overbearing mother. Add to that a couple of teenagers, and you've got a recipe for ear-piercing screaming at every moment. Sometimes on the front lawn, where the neighbors can gawk!

The pilot was all about the cycle of driving, with middle child Barry turning 16, while Grandpa Albert (George Segal) is reaching the point in his life where it's probably time to give up the keys. Both of these transitions come with a lot of arguing and yelling, because that's what "The Goldbergs" is apparently all about.

Critics seemed mixed over the tone of the pilot. E! Online's Tiierney Bricker loved it, saying that she wanted the family to adopt her, but Buddy TV's Jeff Dodge thought the premiere was all gimmick and no substance.

Over at TV.com, Tim Surette had a problem with the pilot's tone -- or maybe it was the volume. "DO YOU FIND FAMILIES SCREAMING AT EACH OTHER FUNNY!?" he wrote [all caps are his]. "THEN YOU PROBABLY LOVED ABC'S NEW COMEDY 'The Goldbergs!' The '80s-set family sitcom may not be one of the best new laughers of the new fall season, but it's certainly one of the loudest." Still, loud or not, Tim Goodman of The Hollywood Reporter noted that "The Goldbergs" is one of the few new comedies this season that still manages to deliver laughs.

Pick up some earplugs before returning for "The Goldbergs," Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

'Trophy Wife' Premiere: Bad Title Hides Smart, Funny Comedy About Complicated Family Life (VIDEO)

$

Don't let the title of ABC's new sitcom fool you. Malin Akerman may be young and beautiful, but that doesn't mean she's a "Trophy Wife" and nothing more. Akerman stars as Kate, the third wife to Pete, played by Bradley Whitford. And while she's a one-time party girl, she takes her new role in his life seriously, as she tries to connect with his children and not be driven crazy by his ex-wives.

As Pete has children with both Marcia Gay Harden's Dr. Diane Buckley and Michaela Watkins' Jackie, both women are still a huge part of his life. The aggressive and straight-laced Diane especially doesn't seem all that impressed with Kate.

“I always wanted a husband and family. I just didn’t expect to meet them all in one night," Kate said at one point in the chaotic pilot. While the other wives are a challenge, she's struggling just as much to connect with Pete's children. But there's a heart at the center of the madness, and a sweetness about Kate that's hard not to root for. In other words, she's way more than a "Trophy Wife."

Even Akerman herself has been on a campaign to prove that the show's title is misleading. Seems to be a bit of a trend for ABC, coming up with offensive names for their sitcoms. They never could get America to move past the name "Cougar Town" and give that show a chance.

The title is meant ironically, because as "Cougar Town" has proven, America loves ironic sitcom titles, HitFix's Alan Sepinwall wrote ironically. "I don't love the pilot, but the raw material's there for a very good comedy.”

TV.com's Tim Surette agreed regarding the show's potential, particularly praising the cast. "'Trophy Wife' is off to a great start," he wrote. "If things stay somewhat consistent, [it] should be one of this season's surviving shows. Now go give your family a hug."

Can "Trophy Wife" shake off a bad title to find an audience for ABC? Tune in on Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET to give it a chance.

'Lucky 7' Premiere: Winning The Lottery Could Be The Worst Thing That's Happened To Them (VIDEO)

Mo' money, mo' problems. But for the cast of "Lucky 7," many of those problems existed before these gas station employees hit it big by winning a $145 million lottery jackpot. Now, they're in the public eye, and that's exactly where several of them don't want to be. Specifically, brothers Matt and Nicky.

While everyone in the cast was strapped for cash, these two decided to risk everything by robbing the gas station they worked at the night of the big lottery drawing. Their boss, Bob, took a blow to the head in the robbery, and now the cops are looking at the brothers with suspicion while the world is looking at them as new millionaires. What a difference a day makes.

There are surely more secrets to come to light with this group of coworkers -- and the one poor guy who'd opted out of "wasting" his money on the weekly lottery pool, thus missing out on the winnings. Also missing is any depth to most of these characters, and thus a compelling reason to root for them. After an hour, it's a shame that most of them are still virtual blank slates.

IGN's Matt Fowler wasn't impressed at all with the premiere. "Welcome to ABC's new lotto-tastic dramedy, ‘Lucky 7’ -- an ensemble series so riddled with cringe-worthy cliches that it would never stand a chance of surviving on its own if it weren't debuting on the same night and network as 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,'" he wrote.

Over at Buddy TV, Morgan Glennon seemed to agree, saying that "you're only lucky if you skip this new drama.” She went on to explain that "the problem with ‘Lucky 7’ isn't with the unoriginal premise, but with the characters who populate the show. As the pilot comes to a close, most of the characters remain one-dimensional stereotypes … With seven characters to establish in just the first hour, there's barely enough time to make each character memorable.”

Will you take a chance on "Lucky 7"? Come back for more drama and tension every Tuesday night at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
