Neil Patrick Harris is returning to host the Emmys for the 2013 ceremony on CBS on Sunday, September 22.
The "How I Met Your Mother" star, who will also host the upcoming 2013 Tonys on CBS on June 9, previously hosted the Emmys in 2009 when the ceremony last aired on CBS.
“I couldn't be more honored and excited to be hosting this year's Emmy Awards," Neil Patrick Harris said in a statement. "And what perfect timing -- I'll just do the exact same script I'm about to use for the Tonys. ‘And the Emmy for Best Revival of a Musical goes to 'Breaking Bad!' See, told you it works."
Nina Tassler, president of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement, "Neil is the quintessential host -- engaging, entertaining and a true showman -- with a passion for celebrating the medium we all love. We're thrilled for him to return for CBS's broadcast of the Emmy Awards."
The 65th annual Emmy Awards airs on Sunday, September 22.
