Michelle Williams and Jason Segel are no longer one of Hollywood's most adorable couples.
The pair, who began dating in March 2012, decided to quietly end their romance earlier this month, sources told Us Weekly.
The breakup comes as quite the surprise since we just saw the couple, along with Williams' 7-year-old daughter, Matilda, and her BFF Busy Philipps, happily vacationing together in Mexico in early January. By all accounts, Williams and Segel, both 32, were serious about each other and reportedly bought a home together in Brooklyn this past October.
Williams was even recently quoted in the March issue of InStyle about their relationship. The "Dawson's Creek" alum admitted to the magazine that she had no idea who Segel was when she met him.
"I didn’t actually realize who he was before I started dating him. I mean, I saw the Muppets movie, and I thought, 'Oh, that’s cute,' but the truth is I didn’t realize he made a lot of very popular, funny movies or was on a TV show."
The pair kept a relatively low profile throughout their relationship, but sources told Us Weekly in June that they were "totally in love," and Segel had even taken an interest in the actress's daughter, doing all sorts of "dad stuff" with her.
