In music this week, country heartthrob Tim McGraw returned with "Two Lanes of Freedom." Though the project was praised for its classic sound, critics felt the album wouldn't attract many new fans. Josh Groban's "All That Echoes" received some of the strongest reviews this week due to several strong tracks that highlighted his powerful vocals. Devlin's attempt at hip-hop with "A Moving Picture" made for one of the harshest-reviewed albums this year. This was mainly due to lyrics concerned with a host of corny, uninteresting topics.
In movies, "Side Effects" offered a complex storyline that left many critics confused. Jet Li's "The Sorcerer and the White Snake" was overwhelmed by slick graphics and "Identity Thief" missed the mark with shots that didn't capitalize on the engaging performances of the film's talented actors.
