Bradley Cooper is pulling a Ryan Gosling.
The actor, 38, who is nominated for both a Golden Globe and an Oscar for his role in "Silver Linings Playbook," revealed to E! News that he's taking his mom Gloria as his date to the Academy Awards on Feb. 24. (Gosling is a fan of this move).
"Oh, yeah, that was done," Cooper told E! on the red carpet at the Critic's Choice Awards on Jan. 10, adding, "One night, when I started the profession, [mom said] 'If you ever [get nominated] I am the date." (Cooper reportedly split with on-again-off-again girlfriend Zoe Saldana).
As for what Gloria thought of her son's coveted Oscars nomination, Cooper said "she was freaking out." But, was he?
"When David O. [Russell] got nominated [for Best Director] I got emotional because he put his whole heart into this movie and every frame, and the DGA didn't recognize him, so ... I was so happy and he was the first name they said," Cooper recalled. "So, I was reeling from that and by the time my name came around ... I didn't make any reaction!"
Bradley will walk the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards, airing Jan. 13 at 8 p.m. EST.
